As the pressure of finals in nearing the AFL world, the players are feeling the heat. Players are fighting for their spot in the side and every thing counts. One major thing all AFL and DT couches alike love seeing from their players is a massive tackle count. With each tackle worth 4 valuable points more than any other stat, except a goal, they are crucial in boosting a player’s score. It comes as no surprise that Sydney is equal on top for the club tackle count due to there stop start style of play. Brett Kirk is on top of the player tackle count with 116, but it is players who are more consistently good that you would go for. Jimmy Bartel, Joel Corey and Scott Thompson have great tackle counts of above 90 and all average more than 100 DT points a game. As the players in the top teams will be fighting for selection you can be guaranteed effort and generally results in terms of DT points.
In even briefer consider players from the top teams, as long as they don’t get rested, and good tacklers. Also watch out for Buddy this week he will be getting hungry for his ton and will be taking shots from all over the park and the Hawks boys will be trying stop him up as much as possible!
