Weekend Wrap: Round 8 Injury List
The weekend gone was a very eventful 8 games for DT’ers, Big scores, dud players yep this week had it all, the most interesting and frustrating part of it all was the late withdrawls due to “apparent” injuries, (i have already givena wrap on players not playing this week due to the Tribute match so i wont go through it again).
Luckily this week is a week off for many players, allowing anxious dream teamers to rest easy in many cases, lets just hope aswell for a good tribute match, great game and no injuries.
Major DT injuries which have come about this weekend and previously include
Ben Rutten-suffered a corked buttock and should be right to play with or without the week off
Brad Symes- his ankle injury didnt pass a fitness test last week, and now looks worse, could be 3 weeks out for him.
James Polkinghorne- whilst he has the most stupid last name in the AFL many have selected him to warm the bench, his shoulder injury should also come good for their next game
Brett Thortan- if your a bit behind on the times and dont understand the seriousness of his injury and still have him in your emergencies, get him out!! he wont be getting any action until around round 12-13
Scott Lucas- Had a nasty knee injury round 1, but has recovered pretty well and could be back as early as round 10
Sam Lonergan- another bench warmer pulled his hammy is round 4 but is a good chance to return next week
Brad Ottens- Maybe a contendor for girly wussy player of the year award considering he has had 8 weeks off due to a sprained ankle!!!! could return this week, but the cats doc said that 4 weeks ago
Chad Cornes- The big injury of the year, there are still mixed opinions going around as to when he will return, by the look of the mammoth cast on his hand sunday night, he looks as though he could still be a bit off, round 10 maybe
Nick malceski- what though to be a season ending knee injury has a possibilty of being good to return mid season!! would be great news as the backline in DT has been struggling this year and would be a nice asset for any team, round 11 if all goes very well
Injurys from this weekend include
Ablett- rested this week due to a calf strain, the champ could miss the tribute match but should hold up for round 8 against richmond
Bartel- yes thats right officially classed as having an injury, but its only a cut head, if he misses a match will take home girly player of the year for sure
Brown-apparently did his quad (achoobullshit) will be back
Black- his injury could be asociated with osteitis pubis, few weeks on the sidelines if the case
Batemen- hurt his hand, will have tests this week, might miss a couple
Hodge- the worst word in football for him, hamstring, could be anywhere between 2,3 or 4 weeks, hammys take a couple of days to find out how serious it is
Riewoldt- hurt his knee as we all know, could be out for a while, 3-4 weeks presumed at this stage, now to keep or not to keep? that is the question…
Porplyzia- classed as having a shoulder knock? shouldnt miss a game
Lovett-murray, mcphee and stokes have all been offered one week at the tribunal, more Injury news to come throughout the week.
